"Our main grievance is with the process adapted to shortlist the players for the different category of awards. We want the ICC to review their process and see how independent and foolproof it is," a PCB spokesman said.
Although the chairman of the Board, Zaka Ashraf has been quoted as saying in the media that the PCB is facing extreme pressure from the fans over Ajmal's omission and to boycott the ICC awards as a consequence but the PCB spokesman today said that no decision has been taken as yet.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain-turned-politician, Imran Khan has also joined the chorus of protests over Ajmal's omission from the list of nominees.
"This was a great injustice with the off-spinner who has been brilliant for Pakistan in the qualifying period that the ICC experts reviewed before deciding upon the final list of nominees for the different category of awards," he said.
The PCB has advised Ajmal not to make any comments on this issue before the media.
