George Bailey defends Pat Cummins after loss against Pakistan

Australia T20 skipper George Bailey defended his decision to go with Pat Cummins for the Super Over against Pakistan on Friday in Dubai.

Needing 12 runs to win of the Super Over, Pakistan sealed the victory of the last ball.

"We thought they (Pakistan) were going to go with the Akmals (as their batsmen)," Bailey said.

"My personal feelings are that they prefer the ball fuller rather than shorter and I thought Patty's change-ups and his extra pace could cause more troubles,” Bailey was quoted as saying by the official website of ICC.

"If you win that game then it's the right bowler," he added.

"I think whenever there's a game that close you always run through your mind the different things you could have done, while we were fielding and also while we were batting and then even in the Super Over," Bailey said.

"It raises a lot of what-ifs but in terms of comparing that game to the other night we can obviously take a lot more positives out of it," the Australian skipper concluded.Australia T20 skipper George Bailey defended his decision to go with Pat Cummins for the Super Over against Pakistan on Friday in Dubai.
