ICC World T20 2012: Alex Hales steadies England innings

Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow consolidated England innings after two early blows as England reached a score of 55 runs for the loss of three wickets at the end of ten overs against West Indies in the Super Eights clash on Thursday.


Jonny Bairstow (18) departed at the half-way mark as England need another 125 runs to win.

Earlier, Ravi Rampaul dismissed opener Craig Kieswetter and Luke Wright in back-to-back deliveries in the first over leaving England in disarray.

England are chasing a challenging total of 180 runs. Earlier West Indies has reached a score of 179 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Chris Gayle gave a blistering start to the West Indies innings as Darren Sammy earlier opted to bat first.

The West Indies have yet to win a match, having come off worst against Australia in their Group B opener but recorded a superior run rate to Ireland's.
