MSK Prasad, former India wicketkeeper, has become life member of the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), an official release said.
ACA Vice President DVSS Somayajulu, who chaired committee meeting, had offered Prasad to become member of its executive committee, which the former cricketer accepted, the release said.
ACA, in its recently amended by-laws, has created a place in its executive committee for those cricketers from Andhra Pradesh, who go on to represent India in both Tests and ODIs.
Association secretary Dr Gokaraju Gangaraju has informed that this was the first time that "such an honour has been bestowed on a meritorious cricketer in the history of ACA or BCCI."
"I am confident that Prasad will discharge his duties to the best of his abilities and see that lot of cricketers will emulate him and achieve higher levels in their career and bring laurels to ACA and BCCI," he said.
