Tillakaratne Dilshan’s all-round performance helped Basnahira Cricket Dundees trump Kandurata Warriors by 34 runs in the second game of the opening edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League.
Heavy rains resulted in match being curtailed on 13 overs per side, as the Kandurata Warriors, chasing a target of 130 runs from 13 overs, could manage only 95 for sven.
Openers Thilan Samaraweera and Kithruwan Withanage provided their side a solid stand of 37 runs in their chase, but the Warriors failed to go past the target set by Basnahira.
Earlier in the first innings, Kandurata Warriors skipper Samaraweera’s decision to invite Basnahira Cricket Dundees t bat first backfired as Dilshan and Brad Hodge scored runs all over the park.
